Project Engelland

I began working on this project a couple of months ago, and was so excited to get started after seeing the space in person. I love when a project has a good shell to begin with. My client had this home built pretty recently and made some great selections. I mean look at this fireplace...

I was so anxious to get started with the design plans, my mind was running in a million different directions. This was the first scheme I came up with...

Although my client loved these fabrics, she felt that this scheme was little heavy for her taste. She told me she would like a more earthy/organic/masculine/classic vibe, which was no problem at all. I love collaborating with my clients to achieve the look they are envisioning. It's like trying to figure out a puzzle, and I love it! She sent some inspiration, which was also helpful.

After studying the inspiration and chatting some more with my client, it clicked. We were on the same page and I was loving the direction this project was headed. We went back an forth a few more times making little tweaks until we decided on the final plan. Take a look...

One of my favorite moments in this room is the breakfast nook.  She already has the tulip table and built in banquette seating...

We are going to upholster the banquette seating in black vinyl! Eeeek!!! I'm so giddy about this idea. We are also adding a marble top to the table, some fun throw pillows and wooden chairs. And see that precious art that my client's talented kids made? We are making a ledge above the banquette seating to display more of their art on. How special is that?!

I'm telling you, this is going to be a good one. I can't wait to update y'all once it all comes together!
