Project Navaho

When I began working on Project Navaho, my client asked if I would be up for taking on a "fixer upper." Without any hesitation, I said of course! We set up a meeting and I got to see the space in person for the first time. Let's just say this house was in need of a major face lift, but I was totally up for the challenge and so were my clients! We completely remodeled the entire house including the exterior...

I want to focus on the kitchen because it ended up being my favorite space and was such a huge transformation. Here are some before photos...

In the first picture you can see that there is one big wall that runs into the kitchen. My clients also hired an architect that suggested knocking that wall down and opening up the dining and living spaces to each other. I completely agreed that the wall needed to come down, which allowed so many more options for the kitchen. Here is what the space looked like after we opened everything up to each other and extended the ceiling...

So much better, right?! Now that we were starting with a clean slate, we began working on the kitchen plans.

Originally, my client didn't want to splurge on marble countertops, so I gave her the option of corian rain cloud with marble subway backsplash. After visiting the slab yards, she decided that she couldn't stray from her heart's desire, so she ended up splurging on the marble. I'm so glad she did because it looks amazing! Take a look at the final results...

I hope y'all love this kitchen as much as I do!
