I was really excited for Project Devonshire because my client is actually a childhood friend that I grew up with, so I already had a pretty good idea of her style and personality. She and her husband bought an older house, but the previous owner had recently made some renovations. Everything was in great condition except for the master bathroom. It wasn't terrible, but it didn't reflect my client's personality. She is in her late twenties and wanted something more hip. Here are the before photos...
Since the bathroom had been recently updated, my client didn't want to completely gut the space. The cabinets were in good condition, so we decided to keep them and paint them a dark gray. The gray paint really made the cabinets come to life!
Next, we tackled the floor tile. I have to say, I'm honestly obsessed with what we decided on!! This was a really small space and we were pretty limited by keeping the cabinetry, so using such a fun statement tile was a great way to really transform the space.
The other major transformation was the shower. Originally, they had the shower completely surrounded in tile with a small glass door. This made the shower feel extra small. I suggested that we knock the wall of tile down and do one big glass wall/door. This ended up making the shower and the rest of the space feel so much bigger.
We also incorporated some modern faucets, hardware and light fixtures, which makes the room feel less traditional.
I love that the bathroom feels brand new without having to completely gut the space. It's so bright, young and fun now! I hope y'all love it as much as I do.
